In the year in review; Loveline Obiji, a para-powerlifting athlete was among the Nigerian powerlifters that set a new world record at the just concluded 11th All-African games. Hers was in the 86kg category where she lifted 149kg to set a new world record.

In the year in review, Otunla Balqis, a weightlifter clinched all the three gold medals in the 75kg women’s weightlifting event at the just concluded 11th All-Africa Games.
