Nigerian Sports Award (NSA) is an award to recognize and celebrate outstanding performances by our sports men & women.
The NSA will be presented to such sports personalities, whose performances shone brightest at local & international level in the course of the year.
Nominations for the award is open to the general public every year.
The main objectives of the award is motivation and social recognition of a sports person. The award is given yearly.
Another objective of this award is to give social status and greater dignity to deserving sportsmen and women in the society.
This award will work to develop sports culture throughout the nation.

The city of Lagos will be agog today, Thursday November 13, 2014 as all roads lead to the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos the venue of the third edition of the Nigerian Sports Award as the world of sports will be looking forward to know who wins what at the award ceremony.
Top guns in the Nigerian sports community, invited guest and nominees alike have already jet into the cities from all over the world to witness this year’s edition of the coveted award.
Speaking on the preparations for today’s event, the General Manager, Unmissable Incentives Limited, organisers of the award, Mr. Kayode Idowu noted that all is now set for the award ceremony which he said promises to be better than the second edition which was held last year.
‘’We are very proud to tell you that all is now set for the third edition of the Nigerian Sports Award holding at the Muson Centre, Onikan Lagos. We are indeed elated over the quality of dignitaries who have not only confirmed but are already in Lagos for the award” he said.
Idowu urged all invited guests, nominees and the press to be at the venue at 5pm prompt as there will be no room for ‘African time’.
This year, as a result of the partnership deal between Supersports and Unmissable Incentives the Nigerian Sports Award will be televised on Supersports for the general public.
There are a total of fourteen categories of the award to be won which includes the Sportsman of the Year Award, Sportswoman of the Year Award, Footballer of the Year Award (Male & Female), Ball Sports Person of the Year Award, Coach of the Year, Team of the Year, Discovery of the Year, Track & Field Star of the Year, School Sports Award, Administrator of the Year, Sports Journalist of the Year (Print & Electronic) and Sports Governor of the Year award.
