Nigerian Sports Award (NSA) is an award to recognize and celebrate outstanding performances by our sports men & women.
The NSA will be presented to such sports personalities, whose performances shone brightest at local & international level in the course of the year.
Nominations for the award is open to the general public every year.
The main objectives of the award is motivation and social recognition of a sports person. The award is given yearly.
Another objective of this award is to give social status and greater dignity to deserving sportsmen and women in the society.
This award will work to develop sports culture throughout the nation.

As the countdown to Thursday November 13, date for the 2014 edition of the prestigious Nigerian Sports Award draws closer, Sports Minister, Dr Taminu Danagogo and Nigeria born world top 30 ranking table tennis player Aruna Quadri are among the dignitaries that have confirmed their attendance at the event.
According to Kayode Idowu, General Manager, Unmissable Incentives Limited-organizers of the award, the Sports Minister, Dr. Taminu Danagogo would be the special guest of honour at the event billed to hold at the Muson Centre, Lagos.
Kayode Idowu also disclosed that Aruna Quadri, Nigeria’s table tennis player who was recently ranked 30 in the world is also confirmed for the award and will be travelling all the way from his base in Portugal to attend the award Gala Night.
According to Idowu, other sports personalities confirmed for the award include American based veteran athlete, Modupe Oshikoya who will also make a trip to Nigerian from United State to attend the event. Modupe Oshikoya was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award
He also disclosed that Nigeria’s foremost Basketball player Olumide Oyedeji has also confirmed that he will be at the event. He noted that Oyedeji who is scheduled to travel on the date of the event had to move his flight to be able to make the third edition of the award.
Other dignitaries and nominees confirmed for the events include, Lagos Commissioner for Youth Sports & Social Development and President of Nigerian Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) Mr. Waheed Enitan Oshodi who is nominated for the Administrator of the Year Award, Manu Garba, the Coach of the World conquering Golden Eaglets that won the U-17 World Cup in UAE in 2013 nominated for the Coach of the Year Award.
